I was looking for a replacement for the OLD cutting board. The problem was to find a cutting board with the right dimensions that fits the counter slot for use and storage. Almost perfect fit, just a little shorter (17′ vs 22″). That does not say anything about quality, but it points out how difficult it is to find the right size for an older “built in” cutting board. I have not used it since the house is up for sale, let the new owners unwrap it, but from the feel and looks of it I am sure that it is good quality. Comparing with other boards, the price is great.

I’ve only had this board for about 5 days now, but so far so good. The board itself seems solid enough, and despite it being used daily since receiving it, it shows almost no signs of wear or warping. I usually oil my new cutting boards every day for the first week of use followed by monthly treatments and that seems to do well with keeping even lower end boards going for a good long while. My only complaint is that the finish is a bit rough. Had I had the foresight I probably would have sanded the whole thing down a bit to a smoother finish before going through the oil treatments, Though I might still go ahead and do it anyway. Overall it would appear that this cutting board will do alright as long as you take care of it properly, (I saw another review of somebody putting their’s in the dishwasher… please don’t do that to ANY wood/bamboo cutting board) and all in all it’s good enough for most jobs you’ll need from it.

Solid cutting board. I’ve owned many cutting boards in my life as a chef but this one takes the cake. Solid bamboo is the only way to go. The groove keeps juices from escaping when cutting foods and leaving a mess. One thing I do with all of mt wooden cutting boards is rub them down with mineral oil, let it soak in for 24 hours, and it will keep your board from splitting and soaking up unwanted smell. It’s well worth picking up some inexpensive mineral oil to protect your purchase. Thanks for such a great product!
